Superb knock from Andy Flower - 127 off 120, I think.

Great to beat Gloucs by 55 runs, and then also to beat Worcs yesterday as well. *Whisper it quietly, but Big Will may slowly be in the process of rediscovering his form, which (for me) is extremely good news. His form is vital for Essex - his recent slump has been IMHO one of the major reasons why we've struggled so much in the County Championship...

Well, at his peak, he was rated number 3 in the Deloitte ratings behind Lara and Tendulkar... the class has always been there, of that there is no doubt.
The same cannot be said for his brother, alas...

At his peak he was rated no.1 in the world!
There was a spell around 2000/2001, when he was awesome. He went on a tour of India with Zimbabwe and the Indians just couldn't dismiss him, he averaged something like 250 that tour.
All this, whilst captaining and keeping wicket for one of the weakest sides in test history.

Great point. If he was with a stronger Test nation he would have been an all time legend I am sure. I was there on Friday night and he was a class act.
