Tomorrow's referee is, I believe, making his Plainmoor debut; hardly surprising as it is nearly a 600 mile round trip for him! In charge is Mark Haywood from Wakefield, West Yorkshire (not to be confused with League referee Mark Heywood from Northwich). This is his 6th season as a League referee and we have seen very little of him in that time.
In fact he has refereed us just three times before. Most recently in the Shrimps v Shrimpers disgraceful performance (on many levels) this season (just one yellow apiece), prior to that in the Mohsni late show at Crewe (1-3) this season when he showed an uncharacteristically high 6 yellows (4 to us) and lastly in the 2-1 defeat at Northampton last season with the game's only yellow card going to Mohsni.
He rose through the ranks quite quickly and his card count has always been very comfortably the right side of average and is getting plenty of Championship matches. He has shown just 96 yellows in 39 matches but, on a cautionary note, he has yet to show a red card this season.
Assistants are William Bull from Winchester and Tim Robinson from Bognor Regis. The 4th official is Adrian Tranter from Poole. The referee will be assessed by Richard Melinn from the Somerset FA.
