Top goalscoring streaks (5 games or more):
  1. Hick 1926/7 - 12 goals in 8 consecutive games (6 wins, 2 losses)
  2. Hick 1927/8 - 9 goals in 8 consecutive games (5 wins, 3 losses)
  3. Angell 1991/2 - 9 goals in 7 consecutive games (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses)

  7. Hollis 1954/5 - 10 goals (inc 2 hattricks) in 5 consecutive games (4 wins, 1 loss)
  8. Shankley - twice! in 1928/9 - 7 goals in 5 consecutive games from the opening day, a nil nil v Coventry, then bang - 8 in 5 consecutive games. If he had scored in that 0-0, it would have been 16 in 10 consecutive games. In the first five, 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss. In the last five, 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss! Shankley also scored 6 goals in 3 games later in the season
  9. Beesley 1962/3 - straight out of the gate with 9 goals (inc one hatrrick) in the first five games of the season! (4 wins, one loss)
  10. Phillips - 1984/5 - 5 goals in 5 consecutive games (2 wins, 2 draws, one loss) - in the first four of these games, Pennyfather also scored!
  11. Moody 1975/6 - 5 goals in 5 consecutive games in the last 5 games of the season, including 4 penalties! (one win, 2 draws, 2 losses). We were relegated.

Anyone have any memories of the above?

Didn't Leon Clarke get something like 8 goals in 8 consecutive games (2007/08 season?)

He did that twice in fact, shame there was a 0-0 draw against Fleetwood in between.

Andy Thomson managed 3 in 3 at the start of the 94/5 season - 3 wins
Gary Jones managed two 4 in 4 spells near the end of the season - the first bunch 3 wins and a draw; the second (the last 4 games of the season) was 4 wins. Only 4 games separated these 2 spells, which included 2 losses and a draw, and a win, where he scored again! 9 in the last 12 games overall.

I scored in 10 games in a row, netting 14 times in total, in the Southend & District League, at the back end of the 80's.

That run started not long after going 18 months without scoring.

It's still talked about to this day. Only by me, mind.
