After a strange performance what has this game got in store for the valiant travelling Blue fan-t-asticos?
For me the back stays the same.
In midfield I would start with either Murph or Strakes in place of Atko or Tims: I say this as Cokes performs better when he has a wide-man in front of him.
BBBC and Loza in ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!
(This is not a dropping of Barney but recognition that) R'dale conceded 3 goals to headers against Mansfield and so Barry may be better for set piece stuff.

I want to go to this one, but it's frigging miles and we are rubbish.....anyone else making the trip from East Anglia?

We seem to be better against the higher placed sides in the league. Ryan Leonard touched on this in his BBC Essex interview.i am confident we will get something up there.

Every game was big, normally win your home games, draw your away ones. The Wimbledon game was much bigger. But 4 cup finals, must win games.

18/04/2014 - Rochdale FC v Blues

Top Of The League...Almost!

Blues make the long trip to Rochdale on Friday, hoping to pick up all 3 points on the road for the second away game in succession, which would also make it 4 away games without defeat. The Dale sit 2nd in League 2, 1 point off Scunthorpe, who sit top and 13 points ahead of Blues. This will be only the 46th meeting between the sides. Blues have won 22 of the past 45 meetings, drawn 11 and lost 12. The first time we played Rochdale, the game ended in a 1-1 draw in 1958.

We last played Rochdale at Roots Hall just before christmas last year, in what was also a 1-1 draw. Jamie Allen opened the scoring for Rochdale in the 14th minute, only for Kevan Hurst to equalise for Blues just before half time. Former Shrimper Matt Lund started for Dale in that match.

Last season, we beat Rochdale 3-1 at home, with goals from Britt Assombalonga, Gavin Tomlin & Marc Laird. On our previous visit to Spotland towards the end of last season, we were beaten 4-2 in what was a mid-table clash, (Rochdale were 13th, Blues were 12th). Our goals were scored by Mark Phillips & Barry Corr.

Rochdale - Last 6 Matches

Mansfield (A) – L 3-0
York City (H) - D 0-0
Fleetwood Town (A) - D 0-0
Portsmouth (H) - W 3-0 - Lund, Henderson, Vincenti
Wycombe (A) - W 2-0 – Allen, Vincenti
Northampton (A) - W 3-0 - Henderson, Lund, Bunney

Out of 21 home games (League Only) so far this season Hartlepool have:

Won: 14
Drawn: 3
Lost: 4

So instead of reading Lomas and his novel, just conclude here that they haven't scored in their last three games and we have barry corr.

Good report Agent Man.
So they haven't scored in their last three games and our defence has been very strong recently.
It can only mean one thing...................

Look at it this way. With York and Oxford playing each other, even if we lose we'll still be in the play offs with 3 games to go! So what have we got to lose? Attack, attack, attack. They will be nervous to get over the line. They have just lost to 3 headers. BBBC must play to exploit their weakness in the air.

Perhaps Prosser should play too in a 3 centre back formation, he is big, brave and determined. Could even make a case for Laird rather than Timlin too if the extra height option is required.

Seeing as we dropped 3 points of Saturday the pressure's on now, we're going to need to beat some of these top teams in the next few weeks. If we can do that, we've got a good shot at the play-offs.

Just for comparison, the other teams' run-in:

The Suffolk Black Bullet is making this trip - passing the 100,000 miles mark on the way so lets hope it makes it.

Current ground no. 82 for me so gotta be done, for some reason in over 40 years of watching lower league top class soccer have always managed to avoid Spotland so its time I paid pennance.
