They are very much still there. I have just driven past.

They are working next to and behind the little cottage (Smithers Farm?) and there are a number of small diggers and a truck on-site.

Looks like they are doing some clearance work and putting up some sort of fencing...

Making ready the access routes perhaps.

Admitedly didn't spot this. but a certain influential friend have spoke about knows nothing of this being related to FF. And his colleagues in the development section have not told him anything new. Of Course mr Jam will dspute this, Whch is why I 've asked to meet him to constructively right his wrong judgment

Perhaps the owners of the cottage are having works done.

Either way at the moment it doesn't appear a lot to get excited about.

Let us be clear, we collectively as Southend fans should only really get excited when we start seeing major site clearance and ground preparation, and that won't happen until you start seeing construction hoardings go up and signage for plant access erected everywhere.

As they seem to do rail work maybe they are building a branch line from Southend airport station just for the fans to have an easy way to the ground :hilarious:
.Then they will start on the ground

image.jpg Five cars, couple of vans and a couple of diggers at the end of the track. Preliminary surveying works and initial pound being setup according to one of the hi vis vest guys. Plenty of suits and boots and the contractors name everywhere. Don't think they are there to resurface the farm track somehow. Scene about 930am today.

Did you ask outright, Is this related to SUFC and its new stadium????

Isn't that photo the one from the Rettendon murders?

Yep. Asked outright. We see it as the new ground but they see it as the whole development of retail, ground etc. Can only post what I was told. This seems to be the beginning of the beginning. But hold on folks - Ron loves a rough ride. Also asked if their were any jobs going on the development - quite a few.

Sherif - your thoughts on whether these are the types of vehicles that would be on-site?

Out of interest, why didn't you take a photo of the diggers rather than the cars?

Is that diggers of a mechanical nature or did you want pictures of muscular men stripped down to the waste and posing with a shovel?

Hard hats, big moustaches, utility belts and a token native american, all singing 'In the navvy' - did I misspell that?
