In our formation Id love to see how our fullbacks coped if the wide men didnt help out defensively.
I have been considering our back options and at the moment I would play Thommo at right back and JW in the centre back with Luke and Cokes on the left.
I think the other option of keeping JW on the side may leave us too lacking on experience/judgement in a more important area.

Absolute rubbish, a wing back sits higher up the pitch, when they hold their position properly it creates a real headache for the opposition as neither the wide midfielder or full back know which one should be picking them up hence why it's a 3-5-1 formation. I used it for 5 years only losing 4 games, critical that the wingback is capable of getting up and down the line, they need to be super fit and strong. To answer someone's earlier tongue in cheek question...no, wing backs do not exist. A wing back is simply a full back asked to get forward more often, and given the additional back up of an extra central defender sweeping up behind him....but he's still a full back, still asked to cover the same areas, be available in the same places, provide cover in the same areas....many people think a full back that has a great engine and overlaps a lot is a wing back....he's not, he's a full back that overlaps a lot!
Similar to how there is no difference between a winger and a wide midfielder...it's just a guy covering one side of the pitch...whether he's asked to hug the touchline or play further in, he's still just a wide midfielder who may be asked or naturally inclined to play in different ways.
Football is a very simple game, generally complicated by people who don't understand how simple it is (and often those people are on a TV panel of "experts"?

The opposition wasn't quite world class !!!! I still had the odd player having a crafty fag at half time so make what you will about the standard but it confused the hell out of the other teams as they all stuck to 4-4-2 :smile:Expect a call from Real Madrid any day then #worldclassmanager

haha well spotted, 3-5-2 !!!!!!!!!And you probably wouldn't even have lost those 4 if you'd remembered to pick eleven players.
Why are we still in league 2 then ?No need to fix something which is not broken!
