I can't help thinking PB wanted to complete this deal weeks ago but Barnard's wages are probably eating into the budget, that's not a dig at Barnard just a good chance we can't afford both

No, but we had 3 centre halves already and if we were that desperate to sign a striker and wage budget was that much of an issue we could have made do with 3.
Id be surprised if we were that limited that it stopped us signing Fagan because of it.
