How are they getting on these days?

Last time we talked about this, I think we were bottom with a goal difference of about -145 !

Sat 14th October 1978. 4-0 To Southend. Gerry Fell with 2, Yates and Pountney the scorers. Gerry Fell played for Brighton scoring 19 goals in 79 appearances between 1974-77, but they had another player in his position who they rated more highly(Tony Towner). So Gerry Fell was included in the deal when they finally got the sought after Paul Clark from Southend. Gerry Fell then scored 10 goals in 45 appearances for us. Considering he was a winger, that is a really good goal scoring record.

His rocket free kicks were excellent and accounted for quite a few of those goals.

A season to remember - all of them, of course !

Ok Mick, confession time. Got 11 of the 12 straight off, but am struggling with the last one. Back row, 2nd left, next to Phil Chisnall. Just an educated guess, is it Howard Moore?

Or even Chico Hamilton?

Why is it Southend had to change there shirts that season of which a lot off support think was the best ever kit , when Millwall play in the same colour now , why cant we change back to that kit .

LOL  .. He's also got that black shirt/white tie combo be-fitting of a Bronx Mafioso!

I seem to recall it was something to do with the navy being too close to the black worn by the referees.
