Very sad to hear the news, I hadn't seen this thread and was only chatting to him on facebook not so long ago.
During our rise up the leagues in the mid-noughties always stod together at the back of the East blacks. I always remember his cries of "Deeeeeefence" when we were soaking up attacks.
When the olympics was on I remember sitting there watching Super Saturday and Ian posted on facebook he was thinking of going up for the marathon on the final day so I took him up on his invite and joined him bright and early on a Sunday morning for the ride up there and we got a great spot near a Big Ben and had a cracking day. This turned out to be the last time I saw him.
RIP "Irate" Ian.
