BEN Coker could be set for a shock return ahead of schedule when Southend United host Burton Albion at Roots Hall tomorrow night.

“Ben is definitely in my thoughts for the game with Burton tomorrow night,” said Brown."

See you in the New Year Ben! :winking:

It'd be brilliant if he did come back though, he's young and hungry - shame he's not a striker really.

A key to our winning and clean sheet formula last season was a settled back four. The sooner Ben is back the better but I don't want him to come back too soon and end up injuring it again and shelves himself for even longer.

Exactly!

Shows how lucky we were with injuries (well apart from those loaned in) that White and Coker barely missed any games. White missed 6 games while Coker only missed 1. Prosser also only missed 4 until the Dagenham away game.

Coker is my favourite player at the club. Really good left back at this level and much better than our loanee has been.

The sooner the better

Has he had any match practice, guys, do you know ? Did he play in the behind closed doors friendly ?

I have to agree. Ben Coker is my favourite player, delighted to have him back. We have missed him a lot. However, would rather wait than risk another injury.

Don't do it! If he's not ready then don't risk him, Boxing Day was the aim, why push it those extra days?

Are you all related to Ben Coker? He is a decent LB, but certainly a long way off our player of the season last year. Eastwood was better.

I don't think it's pushing it.. another week won't make too much difference and he's been in full contact training for a while. He's a naturally fit guy a bit like Timlin. If he's near ready I think Brown will play him tonight.

Tricky one - I think we'll see Brown revert to the back 4 that we had during the winning streak and Coker will be on the bench - hopefully with a decent run out when we're 3-0 up(!). If we lose tonight though, Coker will be back in on Boxing Day for sure.
