Depends what you are referring to - the worldwide recession wasn't the fault of the previous government and it's continuation isn't the fault of the current government - they are responsible for their reactions to it though.

I'd accept that. But our possibly future Chancellor has got previous for pretty bad judgement.

And the recession has ended under the current government.

Whilst it didnt get better due to them people will simply see things got bad under Labour and better under Tory. That will count against Labour for some.

Labour are very good at throttling the golden goose. Tories then have to come along and give it CPR. It's the way of the world.

The word recession is just a technicality - borrowing is up, wages are down, prices are up (with the exception of a face saving couple of months of oil price drop) - they have a technicality to pin some credibility on but the reality is still unsustainable as the reality sends more and more people to food banks and trying to stave off house repossession.

Good grief, what a load of nonsense.

There was a global recession yes, but did the Labour government stop the massive spending spree? Did Golden Brown sell gold at the best prices possible? Or did he sell all of our reserves off cheaply?

Yes, some belts have had to be tightened under Tories, but if you think Labour will come into power and trigger some massive giveaway, you're dreaming!

And as for the mining towns, if Scargill hadn't been such a cantankerous sod and put in such ridiculous demands (apparently) behalf of the mining community, there might be more miners working for longer. The fact of the matter is that mining ended up costing us more than we were making, so why would we keep an industry creating negative income? Especially when the workers strike at every opportunity.

Oh, and have you seen Ed Milliband and his public shows of incompetence? You want someone like that in power?

He made sensible decisions to keep companies going such as cutting VAT to assist retail and incentives to buy new cars to keep the car industry going and he invested massively to bail out the banking sector and his methods were heralded by world leaders. Cameron increased VAT withdrew money from the economy with his austerity measures and arguably extended the life of the recession by depressing the spending power of both government and the general public.

Brown sold gold cheaply, Cameron sold off the Royal Mail cheaply - I suggest we punish both by refusing to vote for either as PM again.

A massive giveaway? No. Tightening the grip on tax dodgers like Google, Amazon, Starbucks - yes please. Why has nothing been done about these when they were such big news and Cameron was 'giving it large' until the spotlight was switched to something else. Only when the owner of Boots shot himself in the foot by claiming that Labour would be bad news for foreign owners of UK companies who also get away with paying tax here despite the fact it's our money being spent in their shops. So no, I'd expect the tax dodging give aways to come to an end with a Labour government.

Managers in the workplace need to be able to work with some quite difficult characters and coax them into team players. PM of a country needs those skills a million fold - clearly that is a skill Thatcher was lacking as she went to war with an industry and a significant minority of the population she was representing. Scargill - I have no reason to defend him or inclination to do so but for a PM to destroy communities because of her damaging relationship with him is inexcusable.
