Frankie goes to Hollywood - Born to run. Probably the best cover version of this I have ever heard

The original Animals recorded this on there 1976 reunion album , but could not release due to contract reasons . I was lucky enough to talk to Animals drummer John Steels about this version , and he said he wished they had chanced as a single .

Can anyone do Paul McCartney better than Paul McCartney?

Guns n Roses gave it a pretty good go:

Absolutely, and the Megas are probably worth another thread on their own, although general interest may be limited!

Which reminds me:

Muse - Prague (cover of MC4)

Didn't expect to see MC4 getting a mention on here! Very underrated band!

But that Muse cover - bloody awful!

Slowdive - Golden Hair.

I put on a Rape Crisis benefit gig in Braintree with MC4 and Senseless Things which Wiz readily offered their services for and as I was in negotiations with him before the days of email I have a letter from him that starts 'Wocha mate' bless.

I wasn't aware of the Muse cover.

In that scene - Wat Tyler did a single with a cover....cover of Madonna's Sex book called Sexless

Sisters of Mercy do some quality covers including Knocking on Heavens Door and even Dolly Parton's Jolene.
