Bloody hell Chris Phillips asks to speak to a Blackpool fan and suddenly we're after Nile Ranger. I love this site at times.

It's not like Blackpool fans would be the best people to speak to - he hasn't played for them for about a year.

Phil Brown is considering a day out to Blackpool Pleasure Beach tomorrow for a team bonding day.

Would love someone like Reuben Reid, won't happen though. Surprised no-one has come in for him...I guess Plymouth don't want to let him go as they've already lost Alessandra to Rochdale.

In 2007, at the age of 15, he was sentenced to 11 weeks in a Young Offenders Institute after being convicted of participating in street robbery in Muswell Hill, London.
On 27 August 2011 he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man in Newcastle city centre, leaving the victim unconscious in the street, but was found not guilty of this in trial in October 2012.[SUP][33][/SUP]
In October 2011 he was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Newcastle's Cathedral Square. The charge came only days after Ranger had been reinstated to Newcastle United's first-team training after a three-month exile in the club's reserves.[SUP][34][/SUP] In March 2012 he was convicted of being drunk and disorderly and was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £135 costs.[SUP][35][/SUP][SUP][better source needed][/SUP] Prior to this, in May 2011 Ranger was questioned by Newcastle after posing with a replica gun in a photograph.[SUP][36][/SUP][SUP][37][/SUP] The gun was later handed in.[SUP][38][/SUP][SUP][better source needed][/SUP]
In March 2012, he was fined by The FA for making homophobic comments on social networking website Twitter.[SUP][39][/SUP] Later in the month he was arrested once more, this time for breaching terms of his bail whilst awaiting trial on four assault charges.[SUP][35][/SUP]
In the early hours of 23 September 2012, police were called to a house in Enfield, north London after reports of a disturbance. The front door of the property was badly damaged and Ranger was arrested at the scene and later charged with criminal damage.[SUP][40][/SUP] The charge against Ranger was dropped in November 2012 after the court accepted his explanation that he had damaged the door after fearing his girlfriend was being kidnapped.[SUP][41][/SUP]
On 25 January 2013, Ranger was arrested on suspicion of rape in a Newcastle hotel room.[SUP][42][/SUP] In connection with the same alleged offence, Ranger was charged with rape on 8 July 2013.[SUP][43][/SUP] On 4 March 2014 he was cleared of the charge at Newcastle Crown Court.[SUP][44][/SUP]
On 14 March 2013, Ranger was charged with common assault after an incident in Newcastle city centre.[SUP][45][/SUP]
In May 2013, Ranger was involved in a car crash after swerving to avoid a fox and crashing into a parked car.[SUP][46][/SUP]
On 3 January 2014, Swindon Town chairman Lee Power confirmed in a press conference that the club would be meeting with Ranger and his management in the following days to confirm his sacking due to his disrespect shown towards the club through constant absence during training. Power said "I'm the chairman of the club and I've got to do what's best for the club. Unfortunately, what's best for the club is having to sit down with Nile and talk about parting ways. While this is ongoing Nile is not training with the squad."[SUP][47][/SUP]
On 23 March 2014, Ranger was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a taxi in Liverpool.[SUP][48][/SUP] He later pleaded guilty to criminal damage and was fined £1,000 and was ordered to pay compensation to the taxi driver for breaking a window.[SUP][49][/SUP]
On 28 April 2014 Ranger was charged with criminal damage after an incident at a block of flats in Swindon on 13 April.[SUP][50][/SUP] He was later fined for damage to the door of his flat in relation to this incident which was captured on CCTV, in an incident where he additionally appeared to strike his female companion three times on the face.[SUP][51][/SUP]
In May 2014, Ranger was found not guilty of being drunk in charge of his vehicle, after being found asleep in the driver's seat of his car on the M4 motorway.[SUP][5[/SUP]

At least it looks like he has behaved himself since May 2014

As Jai eludes to, I very much doubt we are considering a move for Ranger. Regardless, I'd lose any faith I have in PB if it transpired we were trying to bring someone like this to the Club. Ranger is a Class A ****, and is another waster to add to the illustrious list of otherwise talented footballers who ****ed away their careers by virtue of an appalling attitude and massively inflated sense of self-importance.

Friend of yours is he?

Excellent - Ranger can be the new OTTO - bad boy turned good. Every goal can be celebrated with the song Night Boat to Cairo- party on!

I actually doubt that there are any club's fans that have something good to say about him. Mates of mine at Swindon are still bewildered and bitter after his visit there.

he is a good guy. does a lot of charity work and works his socks off on the training field.

Calm down lads, Chris just wants to go on holiday at a second-rate seaside town with a **** pier.

Where do you get the 8 strikers from for Shrewsbury? Wiki suggests 5 (1 on loan from Wolves), Soccerbase 6 (including a youth).
Hi pubes
sorry for late reply, just got in figures are each taken firstly from own clubs current web site, plus perusing fanzines for news, then I try to compare with Wiki and also look at BBC transfer lists of ins and outs for past 10 weeks. Maybe the odd error, but shouldn't detract from the main point

Most certainly a good player in there, but whether or not you can keep his head down is another question...
