You may well be right; FWIW I thought they engineered the Lords vote so they could add reform there to the agenda.
It isn't a precedent as I believe "deals" have been imposed on trades before;- Fire, Police, Ambulance (teachers?).

So, unless there is a will from both sides to resolve this dispute, then the contract for junior doctors will be imposed. Will that lead to mass resignations? who knows, but I think that is unlikely. Will it be a signal that the NHS is not top of this Government's favourite public services and outsourcing will follow? Watch this space I guess.
 
And now, it seems, the Gov't have imposed the deal. Good bye to good working relationships then.
 
And that's only Monday's to Friday's with huge holidays thrown in :nope:
