SOUTHEND United’s under-21 side head into today’s Final Third Development League Southern Cup final with words of warning from Blues boss Phil Brown.

Jamar Loza, Franck Moussa, Kevan Hurst and Luke O’Neill will all start for the Shrimpers against Swindon Town at the County Ground, while Noel Hunt could also be in contention.

Er, all of those (bar Loza) are older than 21.

Phils bigging this one up and suggesting they are all playing foe contracts. I hope not on the basis of one under 21 game?
All of the above have failed to impress , excepting injuries to Moussa and to some extent Hunt. So it's surely a goodbye and thank you for your time here !.

I wonder when we will get to read a match report on the club website, probably the week after we move to FF.

''WE WON THE CUP, WE WON THE CUP, EEY AYE ADDIO, WE WON THE CUP.''
Sorry about that, but still buzzing about yesterday.
I demand that every player that played gets the freedom of Southend, and that Loza gets stuffed and is put in the entrance to the Shrimpers bar.

Disappointing to read the rather flippant remarks about a team representing Southend United winning a cup.
It matters not that some are over 21, other teams probably had similar team formats.
I would guess that the team and all associated with it are as proud as anybody should be after winning a cup.
I appreciate a bit of banter but not the disparaging remarks against individuals.
Well done to all the team, coaching, managing staff and no doubt proud parents.:happy:

You probably mean me. I'm just having a laugh after the way the season has ended. It's in my nature and I'm sorry if it offends anyone. I take the mickey out of other people, other clubs, our club and myself.
