I see that Barrymore is claiming £2.5m form Essex police for wrongful arrest after Stuart Lubbock was found dead in is pool (allegedly)

Can't see why the police were remotely suspicious. I mean just because the homeowner and two of his friends bundle up some items and do a runner as the ambulance arrived, doesn't make you guilty of anything.

Awful bloke, hope his claim fails spectacularly.

The police had very good reason to arrest him under caution as none of the witness statements added up including his.

Plus its us, not the police who will be paying any claims

Absolutely, one would suggest, with a large dose of cynicism, that Barrymore must be low on cash at the moment. As the host of a party at which a man died with very suspicious injuries, I don't see how he thinks he should possibly NOT have been arrested!

surely he doesn't have a hope in hell of getting that kind of figure (rightly or wrongly). he was sacked from ITV in 2002, the arrest was in 2007- in other words he hadn't done any meaningfull work for years. In the public eye he is guilty --- different people will think guilty of different things , but guilty none the less

Unfortunately it looks like us rate payers of Essex will be faced with a £2.5m bill as Barrymore has won his case. I dare say he will throw a pool party

Which just shows how ****ed up our justice system really is. From convicting the wrong people to failing to convict the right people. Unfortunately I don't know what the answer is. Ambulance chasing America plus EU human rights has a lot to answer for

Its all to do with wealth, justice always has. Barrymore does a runner from his own house with evidence, covers up for friends and refuses to answer questions, as is his legal right.......Now what if this incident had happened in the Railway.
