Well, I've arrived in the zone at long last ! I am a mature gentleman of a "certain age", and thanks to big bruv and Dad, have been a Shrimpers man all my life.......though I'm ashamed to admit that I live near Gillingham !!! (yuuuggh !) Still, I can proudly claim some heritage, as my family used to live in Shakespeare Drive...just a nine iron for me, or a driver for my brother, from the sacred, hallowed turf. Sadly, I can't claim to be a regular paying visitor, but I've always tried to get to a few games every year, and never a week has passed that I don't keep up with our fortunes. Many a time we used to train from Chatham to Gravesend, hop across on the ferry, and catch the connection to Southend.......what joy to stand with the hardy 2500, in the wet freezing cold, with our hands shivering so much, we nearly dropped our lukewarm, but lovely pukka pies ! Thank goodness for hip flasks and brandy !! That was way back when, so I'm delighted to see bigger average gates nowadays ! Anyway...enough rambling from the rootshall rambler...........its lovely to be here..it looks like a really great place to be, so I'm looking forward to dipping in when time allows !! Good luck to all and Up you blue boys !...forever !!

ps...when are we going to beat flippin' Gillingham??...I cant stand the ribbing from all the "knuckle scrapers" around here !!!

And a big welcome to you Roots Hall Rambler. As Phil Brown pointed out, check the relative league position of us and the Gills, nothing more is needed. Look forward to you posting mate.
