Brexit negotiations thread

In your dreams.:whistling:

Brexit will be ongoing with each new government. It won't be one decision now and we all have to live with it for the rest of our lives. 5 years from now if we don't like it then, then we can change it. That's the beauty of being out and that's why it will always be part of any future election.

What if you 'deserters' are used as bargaining chips. Which of course you should be as we are talking about what's best for Britain not you. For example if we decide to evict EU nationals who are on terrorist watch lists in their native country, have committed crime, or just never worked. If the EU start giving you a hard time over that.......Who cares :winking:

You can do that from within the EU.

I suggest you read the case in todays Echo about Piotr Kostui from Poland. He is the one who tried to deliberately run over a police officer at about 60 mph with no insurance or driving licence and of course previous for drug dealing and violent crime.

What about the London Bridge attacker who was here on an Italian passport, despite being on the watch list in Italy.

The UK already has the right to refuse entry or deport for reasons of public policy, public security or public health.

The EU is just a convenient scapegoat for government.

Yes, if enough of those "oldies" who voted for Brexit die off and enough young people insist on another referendum, perhaps the UK will be able to rejoin the EU.

You won't get Thatcher's rebate second time round though.

You forgot to add;

Previous criminal convictions aren’t on their own a valid reason to deport someone

The person’s behaviour must be a “genuine, present and sufficiently serious threat affecting one of the fundamental interests of society”

Also part of Camerons negotiations was to gain stronger powers for dealing with EU Criminals...why did he want that, if what was in place was sufficient?

The majority of people and that means plenty of remainers as well, know that the authorities have an impossible job. Can't possibly check on 600,000 permanent arrivals and thousands of illegals each year. Nor can immigration fight the 'human rights' legal aid gravy train that the left are so fond of and are so well numerated by.

Is the "will of the people" now in favour of a 2nd referendum?

Makes a change from all that "79% of the British public voted for parties that supported Brexit" crap.

" as many as 53% of the British public back a second referendum, according to a poll by Survation for the Mail on Sunday."

We all know polls can be wrong don't we? we're out mate and that is that, chin up.:thumbsup:

The lib dems were the only party calling for a second referendum. How did they fair? As swiss says we are out!

One possibility of staying in is David Davies deciding the process is just too difficult and quitting. His u turn on day and stuff he says like it being harder to put a man on the moon. You have to wonder if he has the mettle for it.

News today from my company re brexit. We are now going to be domiciled in Belgium pending regulatory approval by the National Bank of Belgium, not too many positions being transferred but you also have to think about any new positions created and where they will be created, my hunch is they won't be in London anymore. Heard a lot of Lloyds syndicates were looking to do this, so there will certainly be a knock on effect to the city from not being in the single market. How big remains to be seen.
