Brexit negotiations thread

His point is.... Magna Carta is Latin, there is no word in Latin for "the", it is part of the conjuctive noun. So, its just Magna Carta, not The Magna Carta.

Lord Pedant

God.I wish I could get back that time wasted in Latin lessons.Would much rather have studied a useful language like Spanish or German as well as French.

Is it not a tad ironic that a staunch Remoaner should laud such an anthem?

Ha! Personally, I'm not at all sure what you and your fellow Leavers have to be so optimistic about.

The OBR's revised (downwards) growth forecasts for the UK economy, released yesterday in the budget, for the next few years up to 2022, (roundabout 1.4% per annum), certainly don't offer too much hope.

"The UK economy is forecast to expand by an average of just 1.4% a year by 2022 due to uncertainty over Brexit and sluggish productivity levels."

At least we won't have to fund Spain with £billions after the break up with Catalonia :winking:

Our divorce bill will look good business once the almighty punch up starts with 27 family members at the EU funeral. Dress it up al you like but the EU is finished.

Luckily in Britain the majority can see through the lies and deceit of the criminals in Brussels and the self serving, so called experts and MP's that have been coning us all for decades. In the case of the Kinnock family to the tune of £10m.

That odious little creep Peter Mandelson, who screams the word wrong'un at me , Will receive an EU pension of more than £30,000 to top up his Westminster pension. Guess what under the EU rules if you ever publicly criticize them even after retirement then they can stop your pension. I'll wager the same amount that I have lost so far from my reduced Fire Service pension that Mandelson is a Remainer.

Once again Barna, and how many times does this have to be said "it is NOT about money" ; at least not for Leavers.
And I am surprised at you, a committed socialist keep banging on about money money money.
There is more to being a happy Brit than buying a BMW and a goochi handbag ffs!

Really? Look at the post above you, seems it's all about money.

For those Remoaners already riding the great corrupt gravy train that is the EU it is. MG was referring to the British public, Not those in Brussels. But you knew that didn't you? Once again being able to differentiate between what a poster is actually referring to and what a poster thinks they are referring to seems a tad to complicated to some.

Mladic gets "life" for the genocide of up to TEN THOUSAND Bosnians.
Now, HOW was it that Mladic was "allowed" to do this by disarming 600 Dutch peace keeper soldiers (who wanted to resist as they knew what was likely) but were ordered not to, and told that they would be unsupported by their French commanding General. And this happened just a week after French Guv (including President) met Serbian Guv and had some secret talks.
I can only guess at what was spoken in the talks; however it is apparent that the Serbs (always tricky buggers) sized up the fight and felt able to "go for it". Although there was a US aircraft carrier and many other support factions close.
I use this as an example of why I am afraid of the UK staying in the EU, and, inevitably (especially under Jezza) getting dragged into an EU military.
The Dutch no longer take part in EU missions.........wonder why?

Really? I can't imagine that any sensible person voted leave in order to make themselves and future generations poorer.
