Now settled oop North, I am off to Guiseley vs Torquay Utd today.

Just to taste the pies and to see if Kevan Hurst gets off the bench for Guiseley.

Don't worry -- there won't be a post match report.

Another Guiseley goal fest. This time in Guiseley's favour though (Good to see Kevan Hurst on the score sheet also).

Do we get a post match pie report?

My long term mate Sam has supported Torquay all his life and actually had a full collection of Torquay programmes going back to the year dot. He travels everywhere to watch them and would have been at Guisley today for sure, even though he lives in Totnes. No reason for this post, just wanted to point out a great football fan.

Torquay played well but, instead of finishing off Guiseley, they stroked the ball about allowing Kevan Hurst to equalise a few mins from time and a goal from a goalmouth scramble and the home fans went mental.

Clubhouse was really good and friendly with real ale served.

Meat pies were served with mushy peas ---- very traditional Northern fare and very good. Plenty of filling with a crispy crust.

A good day . Football 5*, Pie 4*

Perhaps not an ideal retirement diet? :winking:

Last Tuesday - East Thurrock 5 Braintree 3
Today - Cray Wanderers 2 Sevenoaks Town 3. Played at Bromley, a decent little stadium.
So - 13 goals in two games. I'm a babe - no - goal magnet!

East Thurrock United beat Chester 1-0 today, to make it through to the 3rd round of the FA Trophy for the first time in their clubs history.
