Good morning fellow Zoners.

On 4 October we will be holding one of our Supporters Group Meetings with the Club.

Smoke bombs / pyros
Player injuries
Pitch

stand out as three items that we will seek updates and info on.

Aside from those does anyone have anything they wish me and cockle43 to raise.

Bit of a random one this but what's the deal with PBs contract? I could have sworn he was close to signing a new one last season and nothing came about. If so does that make him out of contract at the end of the season? Is he close to agreeing a new one?

West Stand gents toilets LF. They are still as bad as last season even though the club said they would refurbish.

The mens' toilets by the entrance to the West stand also needs a new door arm. It's needed a new one for a few seasons now. The door just slams shut. Sooner or later someone is going to break some fingers if it's not fixed.

An update on the timelines for Southend and Rochford reviewing and deciding on the two planning applications would be really helpful.

Toilet refurbishments were delayed in the summer because of illness to a key person, the Trust has been collating info about toilets with the promise that they will be attended to, but please carry on highlighting them through this channel too - the more fuss that's made, the more likely it'll be listened to!

With regard the TVs, this was one that Ken Taylor had highlighted to Danny Macklin last season, so I am sure he will be pressing for info if they've still not been done. It may be that it's an electrical safety issue though which might be more serious and costly.

There's a Southend Council development control committee meeting that very afternoon. The application could potentially be on the agenda. Should find out this week.

EDIT: Just had a look and it's not on it.

Is it worth asking if Steve Kavanagh will be replaced or have the CEO duties been absorbed by other staff? If so, then who is responsible for contract negotiations etc?

Thanks

This question has already been asked. It is largely Ron who handles these currently.

This for update thought the issues with the telly's was an aerial one

Having had a bit of experience in that area the issue certainly looks like a signal quality one. it's possible that it could be a cable degradation issue or an amplifier breaking down but more likely to be an iffy connection, (please note:- iffy is not a technical term ).

That could be true but the fact that the tv is held on the wall by mini scaffold may suggest that a new tv is in order!

It's about 20 years old and frankly embarrassing. The one in the far post is ancient as well.

the technical term is: (intake of breath) dodgy, dodgy, what cowboy put this in for you?

Nooooooooooooo :omg:

Why remind them? :winking: I am sure we can get someone cheaper who could also massively spend beyond our means on a load of has been players and achieve an underwhelming league position without any hint of a cup run.

Personally, I would like you to kindly ask about the players who areout of contract this summer, surely we need to tie down the key players asap and not be bitten once again by the Bosman ruling. Lenny seems to want out but what about the likes of Wordsworth and Demetriou

Because it is being shared between the financial and commercial directors and Ron himself.

Which one is responsible for authorising the actions of the football manager and which one is responsible for the pitch?
