Timlin insists Blues squad remain right behind boss Brown

Exactly what we used to say about Atkinson!

its a definite tactic to play a non winger on one side of the pitch. this first came in with brown when the fans revolted at seeing 1 striker (albeit with support) play and since he reverted back to 2, hes felt the need to solidify the middle of midfield (where often there are now 3 bodies instead of two to play up against, by supplementing it with one of the wider players when the oppo have the ball. in many ways its a valid tactic.

I think i understand why PB loves Timlin, because wherever he plays he is one player PB knows will put in a shift whether he plays good or bad he never stops trying,as for tactics perhaps PB should try a 5-3-2 formation, with Demetriou and Hendrie as wing backs Lenny,Wordy and either Timlin or Wright in Midfield.Strikers well anyone of them can can possibly hit the back of the net with the ball given an opportunity.

It worked for Tilly, using Carl Pettifer that way. Carl never scored a goal but his contribution was immense.

Reading between the lines, there is something amiss, but what? John White puts in stellar performances and is subsequently dropped... Ranger has had much publicised misdemeanours, but always forgiven. Anton, as Captain must lead by example, but thought by many lucky to hold on to his place...Theo given extended contract.....Brown frequently criticising his team saying 'attitude wasn't right'. Strikers not scoring/missing penalties.......its going to be an interesting couple of weeks to the Transfer Window.

geoffmundo, I think you just answered your own question. Players, I believe, lose respect for the judgement of a manager when a player like John White does everything that is asked of him in a Southend shirt and then is still dropped as soon as the 'regular' players are fit. I suspect many players, along with many fans, believe John White has done more than enough to retain the shirt at the centre of Southend's defence.
