Hobbies

Naps (or anyone)....I've got huge set of programming notes & examples for C# if you (or anyone) would like them.

Everything you could possibly require is available for free online.

I would advise newcomers to avoid MS technologies unless they have a very compelling reason to use them.

Very true, but if does include some example coding. Just PM me if anyone wants it.

Local charities are always on the look out for people to help them with fund raising - vast amount of different things to consider...the "big" charities, local hospices, Lions, Rotary or Round Table....as James said, you'd probably get a lot out of being a school governor and, I'd imagine your employers are happy to give you leave of absence without any bother for governor meetings and stuff - looks good on them too!

If you're looking for something for you, then don't you have the ski thing in MK?

Learn to code (what I'm doing this year)
Set up a new business or charity (did both in last few years)
Home brewing. (I'm thinking gin)

Better check on the gin brewing. It's distilled and I think you need a licence for that. Also, gin is watered down by something like 60%, get it wrong and it's bye bye eyesight or worse.

I may be wrong but I believe gin can be made by infusing neutral spirit with botanicals.

Either way the money is in cannabis farming these days.

Nope, you are right, on both counts. It's also known as bath tub gin. Just cheat and infuse juniper berries with vodka. I would still watch the eyesight thing though.

Have a couple of stills myself....they are pretty cheap to buy and easy to get hold of.

However...in order to operate (legally) to distill liquor, you need licences...plus warehousing, business accounts etc....or an exemption cert....these are granted by HMRC.

It's an absolute minefield and would put many people off, having said that one day I will get the bio fuel I produce legally on mine to taste less like a fine cognac :winking:

Still go running 4 times per week ( used to run 1/2 & full Marathons back in the 80's ), and deep sea wreck fishing.
