The Spain thread

I believe the FA have given him until March 3rd to account for his actions.

Thats right, but that was for only wearing the ribbon at the Wigan match, now he has won it again at the cup final (and plans to do so again at the Arsenal game on Thursday and again against Chelsea on Sunday) the punishment could well be a lot more harsh.

Oh well, each to their own. It's not as if a fine will hurt his pockets or a touchline ban will cost Man City the title.

Why not you have before and Spain should be your specialist subject ( despite your confusion over historic Military aid).

Correct me if I'm wrong but are you saying they should serve a short prison sentence?

When? Far be it from me to prejudge the Spanish courts (and one of my colleagues partner is a Catalan judge) but I think some sort of prison sentence is inevitable if not necessarily desirable.

Pep has always been a very stubborn guy and a well-known Catalan nationalist. The suprise for me in the whole business is that he has a private jet-so I guess he can easily aford whatever fine the FA will inevitably impose.

According to the Telegraph, in 2017, he was the 10th richest sports related person in the UK with a wealth of £50 Million & he's salary at Manchester City is £15.3 Million a year (without bonuses). So he's only got richer since then & what ever fine the FA throw at him, i doubt he will need to "penny pinch" for a while in order to pay for it.

This is an English football forum no one will worry about you prejudging anyone. Will there be restrictions on who will be allowed to judge such a case.

See he's come in for a bit of stick (quite rightly IMO) for his paid ambassador role for Qatar's World Cup bid 10 years ago.

Not a country very well known for its human rights record.

Spanish PM resigns over corruption, money laundry and the like. Who would have thought it?
Is this more power to the Independence for Catalunia lot?

I wouldn't have though so but inevitablly they'll try and put pressure on Sanchez's new minority government. The POSE (Spanish Socialist party) were 100% in support of Rajoy's 155 measures. Also there'll have to be a GE here before the end of the year.Interesting times in Spanish politics.
