Even in the Charlton win I detected some dejected players, principally Nile Ranger who looked like he had just had it with the club/team/manager/football (it could have been one or all of these things.)

The same group of players (more or less) were a shade off the playoffs last season - it's not ability that is the problem it's psychology.

The team faltered down the stretch last year (losing 4 of the last 6) and are a year further away from their prime, so it may also be physiology.
 
One thing has surprised me is not once, but twice, he has started Check-A-Trade matches. The last of which was 3 days before that debacle at Bristol Rovers.

Merely a couple of literally hundreds of perverse team selections by our manager in his time with us. Team selection is right up there alongside tactics and substitutions to change matches (for the better) as areas in which he has been quite abysmal. Oh and man-management and personal discipline aren't too good either. Apart from that .......
