Although my first choice would be Cowley, I must admit to getting a little bit excited at the thought of seeing Chris Powell back at Roots Hall after all these years. A true club legend :Worthy: and always comes across as a really decent guy too. Definately my heart says a resounding 'Yes', my head has some reservations as his previous managerial record is patchy, though as others have pointed out he did gain promotion with Charlton.

One thing I am sure of is that appointing Powell will create a real buzz around Roots Hall again, much needed after a thoroughly depressing couple of months.

Ron will want to appoint someone that stands a fighting chance of keeping us in FL1. Is that Chris Powell? I don't honestly know. It won't be the Cowleys, and it could be someone we are just not expecting. That's the wonder of Ron.

I would like to see Adam Barrett in some sort of roll, especially with his fighting spirit, maybe he could get the players trying a bit harder,

Poor old 'hastings'.

His first post and he gets a bit of stick (that's not a French stick, btw).

Don't let it put you off, mate.
