Billericay Blue, the winner of this prize in the Player Sponsorship thread has no real interest in attending, so has asked us to auction this prize off to raise some money for charity.

So get your bids in if you are interested in this. Whoever wins, the money you pay will be donated back to the charity of YOUR choice

Over to you lot.

Spaceman Spiff opens the bidding..

£50 bid please Cricko, with monies to the Shrimpers Trust.

any idea when this takes place?

I would imagine though it would be announced in the next couple of weeks (probably around mid March).

Historically it's normally within a few days after the last game of the season. I think the club like to do it asap after the match, so that the players can go away on their post season break.

Last season, our last game was at home, so they held the awards dinner that same Sunday evening at Boots and Laces.
The season before, we were playing away, so they held the awards dinner 48 hours after on the Tuesday night at the Park Inn hotel.

Was it at Boots and Laces as I went to one at the Rendezvous Casino ?

It was indeed at Boots & Laces last year and a good night it was too.
Still waiting to hear about the arrangements for this year.

Seem to hear from Old Blue Eyes it's the Arlington Rooms this year. It's usually the week before the last game of the season but that may ...fingers crossed put back with the P word if it looms it's head. :)

Think people are getting their wires crossed. The SPONSORS evening which is what is on offer here, has in previous years been held at the Rendezvous - Ken, you were on the same table as Kev and I. I have also heard that it's at the Arlington Rooms this year. It's usually towards the end of April, I would have thought 17th or 24th are favourite.

The end of season GALA DINNER is a completely different thing, we had our first one for many seasons at the end of last season at Boots and Laces where supporters were able to pay to go. And it is at the end of the season - or, at least, the normal season.

I expect to bid but can’t until the date has been announced.

I’ve heard it’s on 18/4 if that helps people decide on bidding. Unfortunately, I can’t make that night.

It has been on a Tuesday for the last few years, but with a change of venue it might be a Wednesday - also the change of manager might signify a change of day. Will see if I can find out.

Why? I’ve already found out. It’s 18/4 in the Arlington Rooms.

So now we know a date, this auction will be closed on Monday the 26th of Feb at 8am.

Great Yarmouth, who supports us endlessly, is in the lead with his £100m Bid or was it £100....Hmm

Tick Tock.

Before I bid could you confirm if Ben Coker going to drive because I will probably neck a few pints and might want to stop at Hadleigh kebabs on the way home as well.

Because what you said earlier wasn't confirmed, you said you'd "heard"....if we all went by things people had "heard" on this site over the years, then the club would be a lot different!
