Do I still listen to The Smiths? Yes. Possibly the best band of my lifetime. But he doesn't make it easy.
Agree with all that. Good records don't just become bad records, no matter what the artist does or becomes. We had this very discussion in the office recently when we decided to put on a Gary Glitter best of, which I have to say I really enjoyed.

I thought The Smiths were fantastic up until 'Strangeways.' We heard hints of Morrissey's other side with 'Bengali In Platforms' on his debut solo album and then after 'National Front Disco' and the Union Jack draped Finsbury Park performance, it all seemed somewhat strange and divisive. I think he's felt a need to niggle at orthodox sensibilities but as Lord Football remarked earlier, that joke isn't funny anymore.

Why is Michael Jackson still played on the radio, despite paying off lots of victims. Why do certain people make excuses for him like "He is just a child himself "

Really? Racist how?

To cap it all, the singer tells us “the modern Loony Left seem to forget that Hitler was Left wing,” before giving a plug to For Britain, the ultra-right wing party set up by former UKIP leadership candidate Anne Marie Waters. In 2016, Waters, together with English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson, tried to launch Pegida UK – a copy of the German far right umbrella group, which has provided a fertile environment for Hitler lovers to organise and recruit.

one of the greatest bands IN THE WORLD.

ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN THE WORLD

You had to say it twice to almost convince yourself that you're not talking bollocks, which indeed you are.
Thank you for giving me the biggest laugh on here since at least last week.:hilarious::hilarious:

Some needs to tell him that the joke isn't funny anymore

I thought there was some good stuff on "Ringleader Of The Tormentors" and "Years Of Refusal" but yeah the general downward trend is undeniable. "Vauxhall And I" the high water mark of his solo career for me Jeff.

Drama queenery. He's an English eccentric, not to be taken too seriously.

He used to be I agree, but now he seems to be (worringly) showing his hand. I hope he doesn't truly mean what he says or his actions.

He was head of the NAZI party.....National Socialist German Workers Party. They had some policies that Labour call for today.

Is it bad that I couldn’t name a single Smiths song? I looked them up and recognise a couple. Best band in the world ever? Absolutely not, but that’s just my opinion and they’re just not my cup of tea.

*Puts headphones back on and returns listening to Billy Ocean*

Ha! Who's Billy Ocean?

Before he became a poppy soul singer, he worked at Ford's in Dagenham.

May I remind you of 'Red Light Spells Danger' and 'When The Going Gets Tough' ... he had a few other hits but they've slipped my mind temporarily.

My personal favourite “Love Really Hurts Without You”.

It is. But a bit of "When The Going Gets Tough (The Tough Get Going)" is sound as a pound so you are forgiven.
