Glenn Skivington

Completely rubbish two game Peter Morris signed flop Glenn Skivington now appears to be a sports injury lawyer.

You will note I'm bored this Friday afternoon.

Just to bore you even more.

He played 3 games plus 1 sub for us in 1983/4 & I was lucky enough to see 3 of them!!
v Rotherham 2-2 (H)
v Wimbledon 1-0 (H) Milk Cup
v Bristol Rovers 1-2 (A) He was subbed and Danny Greaves came on in his place.

He came on as a sub away at Burnley on a Tuesday night a few games later but I missed that one.

He was replaced in the team by Billy Kellock who himself was not a brilliant player but was much better than Skivington!

I only remembered the first two. Happily I did not attend the away games that he obviously starred in. Skivington made Kellock look like Zico. God we were $hite weren't we?

Yep, crap no wonder we went down that season although we did win 6-1 away at Scunthorpe & beat Brentford 6-0 at home. It's a pity we only managed another 43 goals in the other 44 league matches

It would have been even worse if it was not for Steve Phillips getting 16 league goals that season. Big Roy managed 4 goals not bad for him from only 22 games.

Actually when you look at some of the other players on paper it's not a bad team, These were all the players we used that season:-
Cawston, Peyton, Keeley, Pritchard, Angus, Cartwright, Yates, Collins, Stead, May, Owers, Moody, Turner, Ferguson, Fuccillo, Shepherd, Pennyfather, Clark, Skivington, Poutney, Phillips, Kellock, Whymark, Wilkins, Steggles, Rogers, McDonough, Greaves, Gymer, they should have kept us up that season.

Hmmmmmmm..... thinking about it some of those were not very good!

Cawston , Peyton, Yates Stead , Moody Pountnney, unfortunately had all seen better days , they were class acts just not that season
Pennyfather was very young ....
But seeing the names Keeley, Angus, Owers, Skivington, Whymark, Wilkins, Steggles Greaves and Gymer all in one post has made me feel quite ill.......
