The finals of the FA People's Cup were held at St. Georges Park over last weekend. There were no less than 18 different categories and my lad Stephen Lovell from Great Wakering played in the Adult Male Disability category with his team Westcliff United. To get to the finals day they had already won through two earlier days of round robin group matches. On Sunday his team played a further 5 round robin matches, the results of which saw them through to the semi finals which they won on penalties (Steve saving two). They played the final against Reading FC Deaf team and won that one 2 - 1!!

Steve is the goalkeeper and captain and played all day in full SUFC goalkeeper's kit.

We'll be at Roots Hall on Saturday with the cup (we're in East Greens) so do please come over and say well done to him.
