In a world of my own.
Anyone watch it last night. Basically it was an insight into how Hampshire police solved a murder.

For an hour and a half I was gripped. It was amazing seeing some of the police techniques for the first time and the way they painstakingly ran through 900 hours of CCTV to catch footage of the killer loading a suitcase with a dead body in it into his car was great.

I have series linked it now. Loved it.

Love programmes like this.
As soon as I saw the trailer I series linked it.
Not seen it yet but hope it's as good as Anatomy Of A Crime was on BBC2 early last year.

Have you got Sky mate.

If so can recommend the First 48 which is an American based true life crime show. They basically follow the murder from the first call into the dispatch room until its solved (Some of them dont get solved)>

I had it on series link and am fansinated by them.

Best thing I've watched since The Wire.

Very clever how they used the old bill themselves to narrate. Programme seemed to 'flow' better. It was also really interesting to see how forensics are really applied first hand to an investigation.

Hope the rest of the series will be as good as this.

I used to watch Starsky and Hutch and The Sweeney as a kid and learning from other peoples mistakes I am fairly confident I could run a prostitution ring or pull off an armoured car/bank robbery.

I hate to think what the next generation of criminals have learned from todays grittier and more realistic police programs.

Agreed,

Felt a bit cheated when the suspect hung himself before his trial but I guess at least you are re-assured they had the right man.

Best bit was when the copper had to carry the alsation through the Halal meat shop on his shoulders....

Yes mate, got Sky. I'll keep an eye out for that, thanks for the tip.
Another good one is Brooklyn Nights, it's coming up for 10 years old now but follows one of NYPD's murder squads on investigations in one of Brooklyn's dodgiest precincts. Often shown on whatever UKTV People is called this week!

This week's one was equally good, focusing on Hampshire Constabulary specialist rape investigation team (Crystal).

Some very interesting crimes investigated, although to be honest (& some people might take this as controversial) it didn't show the young ladies of Portsmouth to be as sweet and innocent as they might like to portray. Crying rape once the hangover wears off and they wonder what their boyfriends/parents might say...

Town* full of scrubbers to be honest...

* - or is Pompey a city now?

Agreed - Another great episode.

It made me realise how hard rape cases must be. When i heard the first girls story it sounded like an open and cut case of rape. When you heard the room next doors accounts plus the other lads in the room at the time it seemed like the lads had been well and truely had by some silly tart.

For me its the best show on TV bar none and thats after only two episodes. I cant get enough of it.
