Removed, just like our National values and normal family ideals.

This type of comment comes up a lot and to be honest it has always bewildered me

So we can discuss this on here, rather than ignoring a very generalised statement, specifically what National Values and and Normal family ideals are you referring to ?

Have always been a Labour voter but frankly now what they have done to the country makes me disgusted with them. Could not bring myself to vote for the Tories as they are completely against what I believe in (and the fact I almost lost my house due to Norman Lamont's ineptitude) nor Liberals, whom I consider to be a joke.

Will probably go for the joker on the slip who will poll about 50 or so votes and is a total obscurity. Hopefully the "Raving Loony" Party will be putting up a few candidates. These people seem to have more idea now than the so called more conventional parties and a vote for them will show the contempt I feel for ineptitude of politicians and the Labour and Conservative parties, who have so sadly brought this country to it's knees since the 2nd World War.

I was a member of the MRLP back in the 90s. I was even asked to set up a branch at uni, but apathy etc stopped me. They actually had some sensible policies. However since Sutch died it's been a bit poor.

In Southend, as it is in most of Essex, it will be a blue vote...pointless poll, but what the hey.

Although my ideals are socialist, I live in a very radical 'green' area, and they appear to be doing a good job for the local community, I'm not so sure nationally, but as niether Blue or Red will get my vote this time round, and I wont sit on the fence wearing yellow, green will get the nod from Nobby, lets see what they can do, after all, they cant do any worse.

How closely do you follow politics in your part of the world? I hear the Greens have a good chance of taking Brighton Pavilion.

Don't forget our language, which is being eroded by those who refuse to learn English. These immigrants come in here stealing our job, subverting our language with random capital letters in the middle of sentences.....

Actually, to be fair, English used to have capital letters for nouns, as a Germanic language. But only one language really uses capital letters for nouns nowadays, i.e. German. And who is German? the Nazis.

I understand the apathy but I urge everyone who has the right to exercise it, even if you just go to the poll box and draw a **** on the ballot paper.

But what's the point? You can make all the statements you like but only two parties can win so if you don't vote for one of them you have in effect wasted your vote.

No. His vote for any lefty socialist communist liberal **** party is effectively a lost vote for Labour, hence as good as a vote for the blue army

Bookies' favourites now, which makes the ton I put on them at 10/3 with VC last summer look like one of my wiser flutters.

I can see your point, but i consider not voting is a bigger waste. I've voted in every general election and every local election since I have been eligible to do so, and I'd urge everyone to exercise their right to do so. Sadly politics has been devalued and the electorate is particularly apathetic at this time.

Irrespective of the colour of your politics the country needs a change of government. If we don't we'll have another 5 years of a tired government, with the same ministers who ran out of ideas long ago.

I will vote for the person who I want to represent me in Parliament, and then I truly hope the country will also have a new government come 7th May, sadly it won't be sooner, but Brown won't go until the last possible moment, and the next 4 months will be a protracted election campaign.

It wouldn't surprise me if turn-out was very low as more and more people are peed off with the MPs who are only out to line their own pockets with no regard to helping their constituents.
