So when you looked around the stands did you see the new manager? He was there and his name is....

I would not be at all surprised if nothing changes and PB remains at the helm.

Personally i think that he needs replacing but though RM appears to be pretty loyal to his managers.

I actually would take Tilly back. The buzz around the club at the time was just amazing and it would really feel like we’ve got our club back, especially if Maher/Barrett stepped in as assistant.

Not that it would ever happen!

Don't say "never", I know for a fact that he would be interested if the conditions (and partner) were right.

No thanks. I do not like him and not just because he managed the Ewes.

He would probably love to come back, but I don't think Ron Martin would bring the quiet man back. Wrong type of players for him to have total control over as well.

Warburton - Likely to get more attractive offers? Would surely be a good appointment.
Peter Reid - Based solely on rumours elsewhere on the board - Could actually see this happening (wishful thinking?)
Tilson - Heart says yes. Not sure he is realistically in the running.
Cowley brothers - Massive potential. On very long term contracts at Lincoln?
Chris Powell - Not convinced this would work out, especially mid season relegation battle

Ron will not want to get relegated. 800K (?) to burn from Ryan - Was Peter Reid really seen in Southend today?????

Depends who you want to believe!

more realistically; it was Nile Ranger joy riding in his car!

Cowley would be my favourite but I doubt he'd leave Lincoln.

Anyone with a reasonable pedigree and some humility would be better than 'Mr. Look at me' Brown though. They could hardly do any worse than our current form.

Can't see Peter Reid. Has been out of the game too long.

As for Tilly, this would only provide yet another opportunity to further tarnish the reputation of one of our favourite ever shrimpers. He has been out of pro management too long and doesn't have the network.

I wouldn't want Sir Chris either, aside from anything else his management record isn't all that.

Warburton has always puzzled me... I've never understood what he brought to the party at all actually.

The Cowley brothers would only use us as a stepping stone and I'm not sure they could manage the personalities in our camp anyway.

What we need is someone who has actually been there and done it a bit, who is known enough to get the respect of the senior pro's yet not so good as to be out of our reach.

Nope, no idea either.

If PB goes, I agree that Cowley could be a good appointment. He is intelligent and has the organisational skills to get a grip on the situation quickly. I certainly do not believe Cowley would be intimidated by some of the personalities in the camp. He strikes as a very down to earth no-nonsense character who is very clear on what he wants.

If Cowley was not available, Warburton or Grayson would be good but probably expensive options.

Out of the managers currently available (I can't see us paying Brown off and paying a club to buy their manager), these would be my top 5 choices...

Billy Davies - Manager with a very good track record and contacts. Hasn't managed for a couple years so may be willing to come in & raise this "sleeping giant"

Brian McDermott - Good Record and if he still has links to Arsenal, we could get decent loanees. Again hasn't managed in a year so could be willing to drop to Lg1.

Simon Grayson - knows this league and Championship well. maybe a bit too high profile now, but didn't have a decent record at Sunderland.

Paul Lambert - has a good record wherever he's been (which unfortunately includes Ewes).

Danny Wilson
- Had a good track record till he left Sheffield Utd. May do a job with us.
