A Bit of Fun January transfer window

Someone mentioned that the striker is 32 years old. Narrows it down a bit!
Well given the number of weeks/months MM deems necessary to be fit enough for conversation lets pray its someone who has been playing this season- if it one of the various strikers who have not played since last March then we wont see them this season...

Ranger has had 8 weeks of vigour following of the MM fitness prep and id is still not quite ready- so we don't need an experience 32 year old who will be fit enough by May..

Jay Simpson is 32, as is Wilfried Bony.
Simpson hasn't played a game since his lat game in Greece in Feb 20 - a year ago. So hard to believe, assuming he hasn't retired, he would be fit to play anytime soon.

Bony- difficult to believe. Left Swansea to play in Middle east presumably £££. Qatar then Saudia arabia. Also released Nov- so I guess he is at least still active. But us- really for 2k a week if we broke the bank- in L2 and the wrong end of it? Can't believe it for one song (but one it would be very difficult to complain about- but no not happening)

Bony was training with Newport recently so not completely a bad call

Simpson is a definite no-no

Ok here’s my analogy

it’s my only daughters birthday In a months time I need to get her a cake ...she would be absolutely gutted if I I didn’t get her one, it’s her right and it’s my duty, my wife would kill me too so I need to make sure it’s a very special cake

23.59 the day before my daughters birthday .... **** the cake the cake my wife will be mad if I fail to get her a cake

00:01 ooh **** no ones picking up their phones, **** all the shops are shut ... ooh ****

aaah well I did try, no one can say Ididn’t try they can check my phone and they can see I was out till the early hours of the morning trying to get her a cake

must make a note to try harder next year, what’s this in my pocket ?? Ooh look it’s the note I wrote last year reminding me to try harder this year in buying my daughter a cake ...

This transfer window showed exactly why MM wasn’t and isn’t the right man to have been given the role ... completely out of his depth
Cake shops don't lose the ability to sell cakes to other people if they make a cake for this dad, so if dad had bothered to phone a cake shop there's no reason for them to delay a decision on if they can make a cake for him or not.

Footballers on the other hand do lose the ability to sign for other clubs if they sign for us, so if we phone strikers up early in the window and ask them to play for us they'll say "you're bottom of the league and my agent says if I come to you then it's 50/50 whether I get paid on time, there's no way I'm signing for you unless absolutely no one else is interested, so I'll get back to you on deadline day if I'm desperate".

All understood but........MM has managed to accumulate a number of underwhelming players in various positions.

An underwhelming big centre forward would have been better than nothing.

Rather than a decent experienced forward who we probably couldn’t attract to the club, we could’ve really done with a big, young, 6ft something striker with a few goals in the league and a decent non-league record. Someone who could improve under MM’s coaching and give us a bit of physical presence up front.

Someone like this would‘ve fit the bill: https://bit.ly/39YaH1l

Wouldn’t disagree but we need more than the one we already
have.
