Formula 1 2021

Great work from Lando, nice recovery from the champ Lewis, Perez had a shocking day altho still a big fan of his.

Despite yesterday's pole I think 2nd was about the best LH could have hoped for, that said Mercedes are coming.

After the red flag I thought he might have been able to get himself on the podium. Just wasn’t his day.

Stroll demoted to 8th and Raikkonen has been given a 30 second penalty which means Alonso jumps into the points.

Ocon an excellent 6th for Alpine (Alonso 13th) as was Russell in 11th. Leclerc struggling in 8th, Ricciardo a lowly 16th in the McLaren (Norris 7th)

Russell has to be in that Mercedes next season!

Absolute snooze fest that! Shame as the other two races have been very good.

Impressive drive from Hamilton. Not much action but did the overtakes at the points when he needed to. Still not sure that the Mercedes is really faster than the Red Bull.

Most entertaining thing about the race was Mazepin being a minute behind second-last and getting a 5 second penalty.

McLaren have started the season well but Ferrari need to "up it"

Ferrari just can’t get it right, they’ve have been struggling for years.

Wonder if they like a few others are focusing on next year where it’s supposedly going to shake up the pack.

Red Bull had a mare with their strategy. Nice to see that Mercedes is still ‘struggling’

Incredible achievement from Hamilton to get 100 career poles. You don't consistently dominate teammates (including world champions) without being one of the greatest of all time.

People will mention the cars and the constructor and clearly those are important factors, but his ability in basically all situations to consistently put together an excellent fast lap is just unparalleled. I hadn't realised he's achieved pole in every circuit he's raced at. Amazing.

I thought yesterday's race also showed another reason why Hamilton is maybe the GOAT, at least in the modern era... he can adapt to different strategies better than anyone else. If the first plan isn't working, then he can swap over and execute.

Red Bull had the pace yesterday, but at the expense of the tyres, they were comfortably ahead in the first phase, but they panicked when Hamilton switched to the two-stop and they should have covered it off, but didn't. If you're Mercedes where you have a fast car and a driver who can look after the tyres and switch strategies then that will always give you an opportunity to win a race when coming from behind.

He has certainly proved that in the last year.
