This has probably been done before, but follows on nicely (IMO) from the “songs you can’t shake the film off

A bridge too far - John Addison

Very emotional soundtrack, moving from joy and positivity to total despair ( and that’s just the main theme).

It has extra gravitas as Addison was actually there in 30 corp

Additionally (off subject) he was Douglas Baders brother in law

Halloween (1978), Phantasm, Fright Night, Return of the Living Dead, Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush, Up the Junction, all of Fabio Frizzi's work for Lucio Fulci, and all of Goblin's work for Dario Argento.

The Goblin, a genius way ahead of his time. Didn't he do the sound track to Georgio Romero's Night of the Living Dead?

Another great soundtrack, Zulu.

Goblin did Dawn of the Dead. I could be wrong, but I think the original Night of the Living Dead didn't have a musical score.

The two Guardians of the Galaxy movies have great soundtracks.

The Lost Boys - Some really good bands
Star Wars - John Williams is a genius

The Michael Nyman sountracks for Peter Greenaway.
Max Richter various films.
John Barry - Midnight Cowboy.
Tindersticks have penned some nice sountracks and Mogwai 'Zerozerozero' is good but their 'Zidane' soundtrack was lacking IIRC - may give it another go.

I liked Tindersticks in The Sopranos:
