The official 21/22 Division 5 thread

I'm trying hard to keep an open mind on this thread but I have to say my only real interest is focused on how Southend perform and their results.

The fans are back - but I don’t know where!

Aldershot v Chesterfield 2393
Barnet v Notts County 2067
Halifax v Maidenhead 1547
Kings Lynn v Southend 2683
Solihull Moors v Wrexham 2196
Stockport v Dagenham and Redbridge 5265
Torquay v Altrincham 2599
Wealdstone v Woking 1405
Weymouth v Boreham Wood 1195

Pretty poor.
Stockport aside (who had a respectable 5265) none of the big clubs (us, Wrexham, Chesterfield and Notts County) were at home so it'll probably look better next week.

there’s been quite a few sub 1k crowds in this division over the years. Don’t be too surprised.

Wrexham signing Ben Tozer
Someone's got at his wiki page already

Ben Peter Anthony Tozer (born 1 March 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays for National League football side Wrexham AFC as a central defender. He has joined them because they are by far the biggest club in Wales, where his long throws alone are going to send the oil rich town into the Premier League. After all £200k for him is like Ryan Reynolds losing a fiver.

Grimsby Town have cancelled the contract of striker Ira Jackson Jr by mutual agreement.

The 24-year-old made 22 appearances for the Mariners last season, scoring three goals.

Gone directly to Wealdstone. Confusing player, he made a good start for them then went rapidly off the boil.

24 years old and already played for 15 clubs.

Don't get me wrong, I am aware of how low non-league works with their non contracts and players just hopping around clubs playing saturday football. But still, seems excessive.

Over 8200 at Wrexham today. Wonder how many will be back next week. #Daytrippers

Dagenham and Redbridge boss Daryl McMahon, assistant manager Steve Gritt and first-team coach Dave Jupp have signed contract extensions with the National League leaders until June 2024.

They could hardly have been worse, could they? There were a couple of real surprises there.
