Planning Updates- All The Latest Details. 28/03/2022

I thought Ron did the right thing. Say little and get out. Minds will already have been made up and any doubts best addressed through the planners not an emotional appeal from Ron.
Exactly when the planner and council leadership are completely on board let them bat away and answer the questions. TBF they are doing a good job of it.

They need to say to their wards that they are worth their wages. That’s a pretty stiff challenge, and this is probably the sum total of their input in their term in office

I would have thought a meeting of this importance and complexity would have been scheduled earlier in the day ..... by 3pm I've had enough of attending meetings, death by presentation and all that .... everyone looks like they don't want to be there ...
DCC is normally at 2pm but can be all day with premeeting site visits. Members of DCC tend to make the whole day available and they are on a regular calendar so they can make appropriate work arrangements for those who also have full time jobs. As this is a special meeting shoehorned into the calendar it was deliberately timed to accommodate the members with jobs so they could attend. That is the same reason why Full Council and Scrutiny's are held with 6:30pm starts.

So who actually votes here? Is it this lot? If so how many voters are there as there seem quite a few with objections or negative views

This is ONLY "Outline Planning" NOT "Full Planning" which has yet to be determined?

Ruddy hell, how long will Full Planning take!
This has slightly confused me as well I must admit. Any experts care to shine some light on whether this is indeed outline planning consent (and so presumably we're in for another long wait and a hearing further down the line) or whether this is the final green/red light.

Don't forget it will be those with objections who are minded to speak. In my experience covering meetings like this, people like to show their local residents that they are speaking out against stuff. People who are in favour just won't tend to say much, there might be a few people with some rallying calls about how important this plan is for the borough, but generally the objectors tend to be the loudest.

Me three, I thought is was the last hurdle bar being called in by the GOV.. Maybe it is and they will just work together as it goes along as they are sort of partners in it all.
