Tonight's Games 23-11-21

Weymouth 2-0 down
Kings Lynn 3-0 down
Aldershot 0-0
Barnet not playing

If we could beat Maidenhead then that would have put us above them and 3 points off the relegation zone (assuming scores don't change).

We are in the bottom three now. Game in hand on all around us, two on Weymouth. Torquay you could argue are sucked into the relegation battle too after tonight.

Two wins on the bounce for Aldershot now after that 5-0 defeat to Wrexham.

Their next game is against King's Lynn so could easily make it three wins and put them above Weymouth into 18th.

Meanwhile, we have Altrincham, who made a late comeback from 2-0 down against Chesterfield to draw 2-2, with the equaliser coming in the 96th minute.

Aldershot are a good example of how it takes time to turn a club around. Their manager was appointed a month before ours. It takes time on the training field: drilling players, working on shape, building up confidence.

It may well be another month before our improvements in performance are reflected in the win column but there are plenty of games left to play.

Aldershot already had a better squad than us- they have already beaten us once this year. This just compounds the hypocrisy of our supposed top budget Dunne, Ogogo and Co who come in the summer must be laughing all the way to the bank

What a load of doom mongers.
Four of our rivals at the bottom are playing, and we are not.
Three are comfortably beaten, conceding 11 goals between them, and one wins. It's gonna happen.
If we are needing to rely on other sides losing after only ONE THIRD of the season has passed, then we might as well pack it in now.

Far too early in the season to be worrying about other teams (although as long as it doesn't send us down I'm happy that MM is starting to get some wins, he deserves some good fortune after the crap he had to deal with last season), the only concern is if us being in the relegation zone starts playing on a couple of players' minds.

Don't really want to put pressure on our management team but they need to start getting wins soon! 2 winnable games coming up, we have to be getting some points. If we don't then the gap could end up 5/6 points. That's when I will start to worry ?

Er.....what makes you think we are likely to win at Altrincham.....? They have just held Chesterfield the league leaders to a draw, thrashed Weymouth and drawn with the second placed team Boreham Wood. Can't see a likely win there. I agree that we should beat Maidenhead but we then travel to Notts County. We have a difficult month ahead. January's fixtures look more winnable and hopefully we will have strengthened our squad by then.
