Breaking News St Johns Ambulance Ends Agreement Over Debt

Ithought st jons Ambulance was a charity based company .Not very chariable are they .
There’s levels of taking the **** - we’ve clearly exceeded them.

The bottom line remains that we need to hope Ron is able to raise some bridging finance - although given how long he’s been at it, it seems reasonable to suggest that he’s struggling.

In all seriousness, there must be someone out there in a position to pay this bill? I know none of us should have to think about doing so but we are where we are.

St John's only require a First Aid at work qualification

Same qualification I have as a first aider at my work. I presumed they were off duty paramedics who volunteered under the guise of St John's.

Are they the only charity that provides this service. Does the British Red Cross do something similar? We have a hospital not 1 or 2 miles away. Perhaps cover from a nurse or doctor who have finished their shift or just before they start.

Are they required to allow us to put on a game of football? Can we run a match without their cover or with volunteers with the same qualification. Would be a good idea if the stewards also had this qualification. Bit of a shame we haven't paid them though and they have withdrawn their services

Not sure what the legal requirements are if any in regards to having to provide “First Aid” cover at an event but the club does employ a doctor on match days and also a doctor for crowd emergencies.

I am sure that if anyone saw anything medical and had some first aid knowledge they would assist I and I know of 4 nurses (myself included) who sit in the West who would be willing to assist any emergency

Does this put tomorrows game in jeopardy?
Not necessarily, You need to have first aid cover not it needs to be provided by x organisation. The club may have the required number of bodies in the building, stewards, back office staff etc that have the relevant qualification (First Aid at Work Qualification)

If thats the case, then they don't need to utilise the services of the St Johns Ambulance although pay them for work completed, even if sometimes they show a real lack of care. A few games back (November / December ish time) someone fell over leaving the East Stand Red entrance and requests were being made for the first aiders to come up to assist. A tall St Johns ambulance worker was saying, thats not his responsibility, get a steward to assist.
