Because of the numbers, we are only going to pick up further injuries. Athletes have to train, and footballers in particular need lots of running to put loads through the joints. So either way we are going to see players suffering in the next couple of weeks.
Is there a chance that we can't play on Tuesday, and if so would it mean more than forfeiting the game? The players would be quite within their rights to refuse to play if it would risk their health surely. The Club and the League presumably have a duty of care.

anyone up for a bit of sabotage Tuesday night? Floodlights mysteriously not switching on? Roots Hall gate padlocks mysteriously changed or chewing gum in the keyholes? Asking for a friend

Totally agree but the league aren't that favourable of us at the moment. It's a difficult one. If they strike, Ron legally doesn't have to pay them so plays into his hands.

Definitely not. Anything that could get the game abandoned due to Southend fans actions, no. A huge fine or another punishment is the last thing we need. It would also give the Chairman an excuse to go down a different route.

If we was to get another 10 points that would be us finished in this league it’s already looking difficult with these points

I was starting to post this in the “Southend United have 11 available players after Oli Coker injury” thread but maybe it’s more appropriately placed here. I don’t know. But for context that's were this post begun.

Only being able to name 11 players. Sounds like Sunday league! Most of your mates are hungover from the night before and ref asks your whether you've got enough players. That's gradually where we're declining to.

I don't know how to word this without getting **** on for it. But whether or not the suspensions get overturned or those with injuries are fit in time I think we need this story and try to use it to our advantage. As some of you have said in the post match thread, this is ‘a new low’, ‘just when you think things couldn't get worse’ and with those lows there should be more shame and more embarrassment. We need to try and show Ron how many eyes are really on this situation and what his reputation really is wider than just us supporters.

We have a great resource in SUEPA, can we not appeal to these people for help?

I don’t use social media so you’ll have to forgive me if there are flaws or naiveties in my budding social media campaign. The idea being, if we could get enough former players to go on record and flood the clubs channels with messages, something like ‘I signed for Southend whenever and played however many games. I can’t believe how far they’ve fallen’. ‘I went on loan to Southend and it helped launch my career. It’s hard to imagine them not existing’, ‘It’s not the club I remember playing for’. ‘The fans deserve better’... Whatever the tagline may be, former players are a level higher than we mere supporters. They contributed to the club's history.

Some former players have gone on to study sports journalism. I remember reading an article in either The Metro or a London paper, I was on the tube at the time, but that was written by Steve Mildenhall. Would he for example be willing to write an article?

There are some who you could say are VERY close to the club, you could say they’re bound together somehow and well connected within national sports media. I hope there are more than those examples, and maybe some of you know of a few that are further afield than The Evening Echo and BBC Essex.

However I do believe Glenn Pennyfather has a bit on BBC Essex. Would he be interested or able to do a show reading stories of people's first games if we curated the best stories.

Many of you are members on other clubs' forums. Can you get some of them to write a post about their away days at Roots Hall.

I’m going to stop there because I think you get the picture.

Personally I think anything we do is futile. The simple truth of the matter is we’re not holding any cards.

Even if those more social media minded with the ties were able to coordinate something like this idea, I don’t think it’ll appeal to Ron. I think the best we could hope for is that it appeals to someone close to Ron or a business acquaintance, or someone in football, perhaps another owner, someone that he respects to say ‘What are you doing? It’s either take the offer on the table or lose everything.’ [I don’t know if he will lose everything. I know there are agreements in place and there’s a lot of speculation about what happens if the club doesn’t exist. Not to be rude but that’s already been discussed so let's not go over that again for the sake saving time.]

Sorry to ramble. I haven’t written so much in a long time. The grammar is probably terrible. There’s probably a ton of spelling mistakes but hopefully its coherent enough to make sense of

A good read sea side you are certainly not rambling on we all have different opinion's and views on what we think we should or could do I think yesterday at 5 o’clock was the lowest the club has fallen in it’s history and listening to our fantastic manager Kevin nearly in tears talking about his job his staff and the players made every one of us feel so low everyone of us wants one thing only martin to sell and go so we can start supporting the club we all love and talk normally about our great club Southend United

You think it's reasonable to play with 11/12 players for a competitive fixture?
I assume that the players are insured against injury, but this sounds like it would invalidate any sensible insurance policy. I can't believe they will try and play the game if it really is that bad.

I have never been an advocate for pitch invasions, however this vile excuse for a human being has pushed me over the edge now, I would now sit happily on the pitch, just no violence against our stewards please, don’t want to see our younger supporters using this as an excuse. I don’t believe it will make an iota of difference to anything though

Strange that those who don't approve of protests are reading and posting on a protest thread. How odd.

Good idea to try and harness the support of any high profile SUEPA members - maybe they can be asked to tweet a prepared statement or something, i like the idea of their own words, but that might be too much effort for some? Other than Stan who are our highest profile SUEPA members on twitter etc?

in the old days of school/sunday football we used to borrow one of the opposition if they had players over.. many times..do you think !

If we only have 11-12 fit players and several of these were "injured" during the course of the game and couldn't carry on, what would happen ?
