Pies/pasties at Roots Hall

I hesitate to feature our bogey opponents, but Morecambe FC regularly win the Best Pies in Football award (as well as regularly beating us).

The bad news is that Morecambe are odds on to be relegated into the National League this season. So there go six points....

And another journey for the team on a train that’s likely to break down.

Qarabag from Azerbaijan suffered traffic chaos against Tottenham last night.

Despite staying a short distance away in Stratford, Qarabag were affected by rail and road closures, and arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 19:45 - just 15 minutes before the planned kick-off - forcing a delayed start until 20:35

True, but it it's a nice seaside town to visit with a decent old shopping arcade and a great second-hand bookshop. Last time there, I got a rare Roy Rogers annual for £3!
One of those make-it-a-weekend trips to temper the assumed defeat.
What! You only want to go for the game? Ahhh, me...

On the subject of pie suppliers I would suggest a company called 'Fuud' they are located in Progress road and I believe they supply the pies to the Pipe of Port. They were also making the special recipe pies sold by Leigh on Sea brewery. And they were brilliant. Plus, apparently they are hand made on site.

Best pie I have ever eaten at a game was at Oldham.

Anything other than Peter’s or Pukka would be the start point.

I’ve heard OBL is a mean cook as well, but that probably means stingy not excellent 😀

The Club already use this company in its hospitality areas!

We don't want food that is too poncey though.

I mentioned in my post on the Solihull PMT the quality of the food available there and that we should consider buying from the same supplier for the Hall. There was some agreement from fellow travellers.
The supplier is Eric Lyons Butchers, I have discovered.
The bacon rolls and monster hot dogs ( real 8 inch sausages ) were fantastic at Solihull ,full of meat and freshly cooked
