This is the lowest in terms of position in the league ( forget the 10 point deduction ) so yes by default this team for quality is far beneath the Alvin Martin / Bobby Moore era, these are non leagues footballers failing to beat part time footballers on a number of occasions this season

Let's be honest. We are Southend united and not man City.

We have had good teams and bad teams. The team that got relegated from league were very poor, but when you look at this league and the squad we have then you seriously have to ask the question.

Is this the worst team or worst performing team in our history?

The Phil brown team that was awful had more bollox in it and we had Dolby and Murphy up front and Kev got a better run out of them than the current bunch of wimps that represent us

Arnold, Ralph, Ogogo, Coulson, Bridge (Kargbo 82’), Dunne, Murphy (Dennis 67’), Dalby, Egbri, Atkinson, White (C). Subs Not Used: Seaden, Hobson, Demetriou

Dalby, Arnold, Hobson, Dennis are all upgrades on what we currently have. A younger Bridge and Deme were both decent.

White, Atkinson, Egbri, Murphy, Dunne, Coulson and Ogogo are all questionable though.

Agreed as my previous post simply a much better team than Maher has put together now

I know it's hard to see, but we WILL finish top 7. This club will not lay down, we just need to shelter from this storm.

Please stick with the team. It will get better - we are lacking confidence so clearly and yes, some changes need to take place but they need us and that is why our club is special. We are a real club, full of passionate people behind the scenes that work night and day to enhance everything about the club. Players, on paper and from experience are good enough, it just is not clicking...yet!

It's not about protecting players, they rightly need to be called out but let's not oust them and go over the top.

Not excuses but facts, pre season was disjointed, we really miss Kensdale for his ball playing and carrying. He was a useful defender too. We have not replaced him...yet! Cards went and we miss him so much. He held up the ball, ran the channels, played off the shoulder, come to collect the ball, pressed, won defensive duels. He has not been replaced...yet! Collin misses what Kensdale brought to that backline. We miss Martin too. That's a major couple of changes for him. He has made some awful mistakes agreed, he needs backing though from us and certainly a bit of protection/support too.

At the end of the day, we have what we have and this is where we currently are. I know for certain that our team and squad won't look like this later in the year.

We all know we are better than this, we will get there. Tactics, formation, personnel - all things that COULD make a difference. What WILL absolutely make a difference is not to give up on them.

I know days like these are painful but we were lower than this last season. On the pitch the boys fought our off the field battles with dignity and pride, now we need to fight for there battles because they and the club need us more than ever (again)!

No. But it is currently one of the worst utilised teams we have had. Plenty of ability, plenty of potential and totally misused and wasted.
