Bizarrely trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Euston aren’t setting down at Watford Junction on June 1st, unless common sense prevails. TfL’s engineering PDF doesn’t seem to be working so if the Lioness line is open anywhere between Watford Junction and Wembley might be the answer (and for ease of getting away afterwards, similar to Stanmore if Jubilee line was open). I’ll be keeping a keen eye on this option. Even the freaking timetable isn’t coming up!Think avoiding Euston to Wembley would be most people's best bet, Oldham will be coming into Euston so trains will be rammed to and from. Bakerloo gives us another option. Best thing is to allow time etc for journey
Neither does TFL apparently ;-)I dont see the connection tbh?
Good luck with getting on the Bakerloo Line at Paddington. It will be completely full up with Shrimpers who got on earlier at Waterloo and EmbankmentC2C-Southend to Stratford (45 mins)
Crossrail- Stratford- Paddington (15-20 mjns)
Bakerloo line- Paddington to Wembley Central (30 mins)
Hardly the end of the world journey.
True - after Wycombe there was no problem getting the tube after. All the Wycombe fans had long gone. Same with any cup final with a winner and a loser. It’s not like an England game where you’ve got the whole stadium leaving at once. One set of fans will be celebrating in the ground for at least an extra hour.
I recall walking past a long queue for Wembley Stadium station some time after the game, as most of them would've gone from there direct to Wycombe!True - after Wycombe there was no problem getting the tube after. It's a very easy route usually. How easy it'll be with a lot more people using it because of the other line being out is anyone's guess. The best way I can see, is London Liverpool Street to Baker Street, walk to Marylebone station catch Chiltern train to Wembley stadium station. This seems by far the easiest route.![]()
Ok TFL now working. No engineering on that line so either Harrow and Wealdstone or Kenton works for me. On street parking a challenge for the former. For the latter, south of Kenton road public car parks to the limit of the Wembley match day zone is free parking in addition to any on street parking. To be honest I walk a minimum of 8 miles a day. That’s almost certainly going to be my option but the Lioness line might work for others.Bizarrely trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Euston aren’t setting down at Watford Junction on June 1st, unless common sense prevails. Yes, looks ok. They’re running 6 trains an hour, journey is 9 minutes. If they stick on long trains it should work well. It's a very easy route usually. How easy it'll be with a lot more people using it because of the other line being out is anyone's guess.
Restricted to residents only on events days I believe. Last few times I've been I've paid to park on a driveway a 10 minute walk away. What's the parking situation like around Wembley?
Correct, there’s an event zone map on Brent counciL website but they are blocking HK (because they think it is China!). I’ve seen written text elsewhere but you’re better goggling Brent website directy. Somewhere north of that match day zone and Kenton station (south of Kenton road as north of it is Harrow council) for free parking (where no other restrictions are indicated) including any public car parks.Restricted to residents only on events days I believe. I am sure everyone will be fine, even if some of us have to stand up for a full 25 minutes it's not going to kill us.Good luck with getting on the Bakerloo Line at Paddington. It will be completely full up with Shrimpers who got on earlier at Waterloo and Embankment
Given TfL and Network Rail love doing engineering works on weekends, the answer will be no.They’ve surely got to consider rescheduling the maintenance. They’re asking for trouble confining a crowd as large as this one will be to that amount of public transport
Isn't there a match at Wembley the day before that isn't affected? If that's the case then it implies the engineering works start on the day of our match. Surely they can delay them one more day? I know it's not that easy and these things are planned months in advance, but any project manager worth his/her salt can work around that.Given TfL and Network Rail love doing engineering works on weekends, the answer will be no.
