I had the misfortune to hear Shiver by Natalie Umbrella and must say that it is one of the dullest, tuneless pieces of rubbish I have ever heard. (Excluding anything by Athlete or Embace).

Cheers

50 Cent - Candy Shop
A monstrously awful song, that one... the embodiment of every stupid stereotype about black rappers along the lines of "I have a fast car and shag women."

It's truly neanderthal nonsense - and I can't believe anyone whose brain was anywhere other than in their trousers would even think about buying it.

Is that you, Mad Cyril?

I do believe we have diametrically opposed tastes in music. Moreover, one gets to watch the pouting Ms. Imbruglia as well in the video, which is no bad thing!

Mohito ft. Howard Jones - Slip Away (UMM)
Huh?  As in the 80's synth-meister?  Crumbs, where did they find him?!

A quick talk to a couple of my friends..

Howard Jones aka HoJo, is still producing music. Check out his offical website, howardjones.com for the latest information. His last release, promo version of his song, "Don't Look At Me Now", was remixed by a band dBA, and it was a great slice of trance.

The Mohito track has been doing the rounds now for some months, and some of the remixes are quite special. The best remix in my opinion is the dBA Remix; solid, fu*king solid trance remix.

Sorry to say, at 7 minutes, too long for a radio play Maybe Judge Jules will pick it up? I know that Peter Tong has already played this track (different remix, house version) on his show.

and also from a helpful source...

Hi Everyone. I'm Glenn and I work for Howard and his record label.
So great to see such interest in the Mohito track. It certainly has got of to a fab start.
Firstly, the sell....
You can buy the 12" vinyl from us at www.dtox.co.uk/webstore for £5.50 plus P&P.

Hopefully the track will be released mainstream next year. Its so far getting massive feedback in Scandinavia where it reached NUMBER 1 in Norway. There are a total of 9 mixes so far, which are being put out, including a radio edit which is hoped will be dropped to radio stations in the UK really soon.

Several months ago Howard was approached by dance producers The Young Punx to collaborate on a song for a new project called Mohito. Using part of the song 'Like to get to know you well' a new song was crafted called 'Slip Away' featuring new vocals from Howard along with the singer 'Busk'. The results were a tasty serving of summer disco House. With remixes from house producer Steve Angello and Dtox record's own dba (http://www.dba-music.com ) the record was snapped up by UMM records who are releasing the record around the world.
The record has already received BBC Radio 1 play from DJ Fergie and on Kiss FM by DJ's Tall Paul and Tayo. The record has been given Mainstream single of the week in DMC's Update Magazine and Eastenders fans should listen out for the track being played in Angie's Den!

Howard has a number of gigs coming up in 2005, which are electric gigs with loads of synths, and a much more of a dance vibe to what many of you may recall of Howard. Why not check him out!!

Anyway, just to correct cockneygeezer, the latest track by Howard is called Just Look At You Now. The dba mix in my opinion is the better of the mixes

Finally on Howard, the new album, which is due for release in 2005 is awesome. You really have to check it out when its released, as it is going to be Howard's best album EVER...and I can tell you that as a fact (and as Howard's top fan!)

cockneygeezer mentioned dba. Dba are Shaz Sparks and Robbie Bronnimann. Robbie is a world renowned Producer, Remixer and performer and he has worked with so many famous artists, including Chicane, Howard Jones, Matt Darey, Midge Ure to name a few.

dba have had some cracking tracks on the latest Euphoria albums. I really cannot recommend their sound to you enough. OK I work for the guys, but I do simply because I believe in their music and I invite you over to www.dba-music.com and www.shazsparks.com to download some free music to hear for yourselves. Oh, and we have some free tracks at www.howardjones.com.
