What School, Form and Departure year?

No, scroll back and you'll see that I'm an Old Boy too. He's been there donkey's - taught me GCSE Biology, and had him as rugby coach one year.

Bump into him every so often in The Elms in Leigh.

Ah, OK. Yeah, he's been there for ages and often frequents The Elms of a lunchtime with Doug Wringe (legend)

Chalkwell Hall Junior School

Southend-on-Sea High School for Boys
1979-1984
Honours: Hockey, Athletics (1500m, Pole Vault), Cross Country, Subbuteo
House: Athens nulli secundus
Form Masters: I can't remember that far back! Hitchcock? Reid? All names that seem familiar.

blenheim infants & juniors 68-74

westcliff high 74-81
form masters were:
jones (a really nice man, had been a boxer before becoming teacher), maughan (who I think was still there until recently)
barton (who always wore a white lab coat)

the year I was in at westcliff about 80% of the intake was from west leigh school - does that still happen?

You were there same time as I was next door - remember Mr Curtis and Mr Harrison?

Fernielea Primary School 1979 - 1986 - Aberdeen
Hazlehead Academy - 1986 - 1992 - Aberdeen

Head was Mr Sibbald - great guy (came on a couple of trips to Germany with us)

I do - I think Mr Curtis was a handy local cricketer and Mr Harrison's daughter went to the girls' school.
I noticed your earlier post - you would have been there at same time as my sister though you are unlikely to have known her as she would have been in 4th year in 1980.

Yep, you're right, Ron Curtis played (and still does I think) for Hadleigh and Thundersley CC. We all had a major pash on him when we were in the 3rd year, and I actually became great friends with him outside of school. I remember he took the lead role in HMS Pinafore when we put it on in the 6th form and got drunk on the last night, and he drove a bright red Triumph Herald.

Mr Harrison's wife was my English teacher, she committed suicide during the summer at the end of our 3rd year.

Did you have fun with the Doc too? We only had him in the afternoon and used to run riot! Then he'd always grass us up to Mr Thomas who'd try to rely on me, my mate Gav and my mate Pete.... The Doc used to blame us, but it was the whole class really!
