    Formations

You may have seen the new feature on the club web-site about Elvis' World XI, probably the most interesting thing to come from this will be the formation. Elvis, a product of our youth system, chose 4-2-3-1 as his formation. It will be interesting to see how many players choose formations other...

    442 vs 451 stats

This is a toughie but does anyone know what our home results are using the 2 formations. I'm convinced we are better under 442 but can't prove it. Away is different and makes sense in my eyes to use either. Anyway our away results aren't in question.
  3. Formations- What is Blues Best Formation?

What is Blues Best Formation at the moment? i think we need to play a 4-3-1-2 to allow payne just behind the two strikers with corr up front to get the ball down with another striker with pace to break into opposition's defenses (weston or shaq) i think shaq would benefit more playing upfront...
  4. All Change

went to see the boys training at B & L today. PB was drilling them over a specific way of playing. He had them sat down on the grass and showed them, using a scaled down pitch with 11 blue cones and 11 yellow cones set out in 4 3 3 formations, how he wanted them to play. he talked and showed (by...
  5. Gary Rowett on BBC Radio

Not sure if anybody else had heard the Burton Manager this evening on the BBC website being interviewed after the match but it sounded to me that he was trying to convince himself (as well as everybody else) that it all ultimately went to plan today and that playing SUFC (vs. Fleetwood and York)...

    The phil brown interview

This was published on line yesterday in the form of a two part interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QhwRAIOMQw&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MPmQiRN7AI&feature=youtu.be It seems to me an important statement of faith from Phil Brown. I'm sure many have already...

What I like about Phil Brown

I've just been reading through Phil Brown's interviews and I am impressed with how he conducts himself. PB seems to be a very strong minded and positive person. Throughout his first 6 games in charge he has accepted that he is learning about the team. He hasn't professed to knowing everything...

    Pre-Match Thread Bradford v Southend

So he's finally here and Friday's trip to Bradford will be the man from Del Monte's first game in charge. Some of our posters will be more aware of Brown's style of play, preferred tactics and formations, so what team would you expect/like to see? Can anyone see recalls for BBBC, Smith or...

    Question Britt Assombolonga - thoughts?

It is two thirds of the way through the season (ish) yet I am still unsure of whether I rate Assombolonga or not, I usually have fairly strong opinions on most players but for whatever reason, the jury is still out for me. I was very shocked to see him on the bench tonight, but then I started...

Pre-Match Thread Team players and formation against Ipswich

Not a big fan of friendlies but we only have a couple left (so far) until the start of the season with a cup game against Peterborough .......... so I reckon that we might be able to tell quite a lot about the "first choice XI" from how the team lines up at 7:45 .............. and it might tell...
