    Academy Schools

Does anyone on here have some knowledge on Academy school's? I ask because in a certain Academies case I find the whole set-up a bit worrying. In question for me is The Basildon Academies. I have a daughter at the lower site since September 2011 and my dealings with it have led me to go as far...

  3. ..and they say that Britain has gone PC crazy

NYC bans "loaded" words like birthday, Christmas and dinosaur from public tests so they don't insult Jehovahs Witnesses, Muslims and Creationists. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/28/new-york-city-schools-ban-loaded-words-from-tests/ Insane.
  4. Faith Schools

Following on from the other thread, should they be banned? I can imagine you don't need my viewpoint on this, it's a definite yes. I think they create segregation and besides too many people lie about their faith just to get young 'un into a school just because the church are pumping more money...

  7. Can a footballer learn to control anger?

Or for that matter can any human being learn to control anger? Well the simple answer is yes we can learn to control anger. But in general anger cannot be managed simply by someone trying harder next time to avoid getting angry (as some seem to think). I have never heard of footballers...

Australian Prime Minister does it again!!

The Lady Australian Prime Minister decided to open up a hornets nest.I actually think she makes some fair points. "It took a lot of courage for this woman to speak what she had to say for the world to hear. The retribution could be phenomenal, but at least she was willing to take a stand...

Memory Lane 'Whatever Happened To ...?'

I've been bowled over by the breadth of knowledge and feeling on here about our supporters' experiences from the days of yore. It got me thinking to when I first started watching The Blues as a kid in the late sixties. We all lose touch with people we've liked for various reasons, but reading...

My fellow 'Zoners, Please forgive me if this one has done before - but your mission is this, should you choose to accept it. I would like you to think of a song and give it a Southend area twist in the song title. You need to think of places - roads, shops, schools, landmarks. Here's an...

    An Obituary

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
