    The Rally Cry...

So, we are less than 24 hours from one of the biggest games in our clubs history. What is tomorrow all about?... It's all about enjoying ourselves. It's about singing loudly and proudly for 90 minutes. It's about showing your pride and passion for our team, as they come up against some of...

    Shrimpers United in Brisbane

Statski77 (Matt) is currently over here on holiday visiting his family who live in Brisbane now and last night we met up for the Queensland Roar game. We had a few beers pre-match in Caxton Street and into the ground where he took a few photo's which I'm sure will be posted on here when he...

    Southend United Terrace Jokes

Everybody has there local joker around where they sit, or perhaps its the quiet guy that comes out with a cracker once in a while. Maybe even the idiot who tries his hardest too often and once in a while hits the money. Whoever the individual, some bloody hilarious things are said in football...

TBV/SZ Pub for Chelsea - United for Southend

Following on from the thread in the Away forum(http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?t=46472). I put forward the idea of all meeting up in Leicester Square early doors for some serious drinking, singing and flag hanging!... Easy enough route from there to Stamford Bridge aswell...
  6. Pre-Match Thread Will we play in yellow?

for the Chelsea game - will it be yellow? Also - who was at the Southampton and Doncaster games where we, the SUFC fans were amazing - more of the same :). If we go 1,2,3 or 4 behind would be great for everyone to just keep singing louder and LOUDER!!! Be good to see big numbers in fancy...

    Need more player/team specific songs

Noticed the other day that most our songs are very unpersonal regarding players and our team. For example one Adam Barrett, can be used for anyone, and we used to use it for Sodje too. Peter Clarke here there everywhere can be used for anyone etc. Much preferred singing Bailey's song last year...

We All Follow.....THE ESSEX BOYS IN BLUE!!!

I love a good argument. I enjoy the banter and the heated debates we see in the Pub threads, and have been less than complimentary to some of my fellow Blues' fans. But let's make something very clear. With a few muggy Borient exceptions, we are here because we love those Boys in Blue. With...

My Roar blog - part 2

At the start of the A-League season I posted a blog about my experiences as a newly emigrated ‘Pom’ supporting the Queensland Roar. General commitments relating to settling into the country (getting a new job, buying a car, finding somewhere to live) has meant I haven’t made it a regular thing...

    New Club Anthem? - Thoughts...

Anyone think this could be the new club anthem? I know it's a buch of Yid fans singing it, but I think it could work as an anthem. We used to play it as goal music in the dark days of Little and Martin I believe. http://www.deezer.com/track/1309597

Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 3 Colchester 3

If it can ever really be said that we scored (twice!) too early, then it could be said about this one. After the midweek heroics against Leeds, it was always going to be difficult to raise ourselves a second time in such quick succession. With the visiting Ewes enjoying a rest during the week...
  14. Favourite Colchester game memory

With the big game tomorrow lets look back at some of our previous matches with the scum. There has been some great gamse against them recently and also some not so good games but still my greatest memories come from the games in the 80's when we played them 2 or 3 times a season and it was pure...

Orient thrashing, the 'Taking' of the Spread, and Wiggy's Identity Finally Revealed

I had every intention of defying my usual trend of taking only 4 photos every trip to see Southend play, but the above is all I got this time around :D Friday morning started bright and early at 7am, where Billy no mates here made his way to Shannon Airport. Got a sneaky, and rather greasy...

The Kids Are More Than Alright

Arsene Wenger stared down his inquisitor and smiled. Just half an hour after his young Arsenal side had demolished Sheffield United by six goals, the old quote, "You can't win anything with kids," had been offered up to him. "These players," he said levellely, "do not play like kids." They...
