Ooh, I’m so excited
And I just can’t hide it
I think I’m about to lose control
And I think I like it.

Come on STAN !! Come on SOUTHEND !!

Let’s get it happening.

Good to see Stan filming from the halfway line. Regularly talk with @Shrimpergarry about how when Stan got the ball on the halfway line there was a sense of expectation something would happen. Actually feel sorry for the youngsters that haven’t had that feeling at Roots Hall.

One of my favourite Stan moments was against Birmingham. Think we won 4-0 and he didn't actually score that night but fairly early on he picked the ball up from Chrissy Powell, with his back to the goal, 25 yards out from the Southend goal and just the sense of anticipation with him on the ball. We all knew what was coming and sure enough he turned and just drove at the Birmingham defence. Ended up putting it wide from 25 yards but **** me what other player in the history of football has got you to stand up in anticipation when they pick the ball up with their back to goal 25 yards out from their own goal?

Magical, magical stuff. And he did this sort of thing on a weekly basis three levels up from where we now play.
